Exam Policies
-
Exam location:
Our usual room for the MWF lectures.
-
Time allowed: The regular 50 min. class period
for midterm hour exams
and the standard assigned slot for the final exam.
If you show up late, you will still have to finish
by the end of the time period!
-
Excused absences: See the
Course Policies page
for details on missed hour exams.
You will have to get a letter from the
Dean if you miss the exam
(which is a standard thing for the Dean's office to handle,
so don't be afraid of them).
-
Cheating: Don't do it! See the
Student Code
for official university policies.
Customary rules apply, among them:
- You may not talk to other students.
- You may not seek assistance from anyone else during the exam.
- You may not look at the exam of someone else.
- All other standard rules about cheating! You should know what they are.
-
Calculators: Calculators are not allowed!
You won't need one, anyway.
-
Other electronic devices:
no electronic device of any kind is allowed: no cell phones, iPods, laptops,
walkmen, headphones, blackberries, etc.
-
Books/notes: you may not use any books, notes, formula sheets, etc.
-
Scratch paper: you may not bring your own scratch paper. I will provide
adequate scratch paper for use during the exam.
-
Student IDs: you must bring your student ID to the exam. I reserve the
right to check it!
-
Questions: If you have any questions about these policies, you should ask
before the exam.
-
Appeals: If you disagree with your exam grading, you should contact your
TA no later than two weeks after the graded exam is returned to your class.
