General Instructions:

• 2nd midterm will consist of 8-10 questions. To obtain the full credit, not only the correct answer but the calculations leading to the answer must be shown. For multiple choice questions, the detailed answer is not required unless stated otherwise.
• Studying and practicing homework problems and other related problems is important for the exam, but not all questions on the exam are drawn from the homework. Questions can also be based upon examples that I or your TAs have covered in lectures and discussions.
• In this test the theory is especially important. You may be asked simple questions about definitions and basic concepts.
• No books, notes, calculators or other computer aid is permitted on the exam.

MidTerm Exam 2 Content:

Midterm Exam 2 will cover sections 8.1-8.6 (From Sequences to Power Series. Taylor series will not be included.)

• Sequences: convergence, divergence, all the section 8.1 except for the proof of theorem 1.4.
• Series: definition of convergence, geometric series, k-th term test, harmonic series, all the section 8.2
• Integral test and comparison tests, p-series test, limit comparison test
• Alternating series, convergence test
• Absolute convergence, conditional convergence, ratio test, root test, all the section 8.5
• Power series. Interval and radius of convergence.
