Textbook
Edwards and Penney, Differential Equations and Boundary Value Problems;
Computing and Modelling, Custom Edition for the University of Illinois
at Urbana-Champaign, Pearson Custom Publishing, 2008.
Note: This custom edition is taken from Edwards and Penney, Differential
Equations with Boundary Value Problems: Computing and Modelling, Fourth
Edition. It is identical to the fourth edition except that Chapters 5, 6, 7,
and 8 have been removed. If students would prefer to use the full fourth
edition, this should not be a problem.
Lecture Coverage
We will cover sections 1-6 from Chapter 1, sections 1 and 3 from Chapter 2,
sections 1-6 and 8 from Chapter 3, sections 1-7 from Chapter 9, and sections
1-3 from Chapter 10. The chronological order of coverage is the same as the
order in which the sections appear in the textbook.
Homework
Homework will be assigned weekly. You should submit your homework in class.
However, if you miss a class, but want to hand in your homework, you must put
it in my mailbox by 1:00 PM on the due date.
